The 20 statements below are intended to describe to a greater or lesser extent your current position. For each statement, circle the number that best corresponds to your feelings. On this scale, 0 means “not at all” and 5 means “very much.”

The highest possible total is 100. But because true job satisfaction is impossible to quantify, this exercise merely provides a subjective picture of your current situation. But even this can be revealing. Often, the evaluation of a current situation will highlight sources of job dissatisfaction for the first time.You may even discover that your dissatisfaction is not with the position at all, but with some other source that you have been unwilling to acknowledge.
