EarthJustice (www.earthjustice.org) – Established in 1971 as the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund, Earthjustice has for some years now been a non-profit public interest law firm dedicated to protecting wildlife and natural resources. The Oakland CA-based organization has a legal staff of more than 50 in offices around the country including Washington DC. Foundation Center (www.foundationcenter.org/pnd) – One of the the nation’s leading authorities on philanthropy. The Foundation’s Philanthropy News Digest has a Job Corner that provides listings of current full-time job openings – legal and nonlegal – at US-based foundations and nonprofit organizations. Click on Jobs on the tool bar.

Idealist (www.idealist.org) – Public interest-oriented job hunters can search thousands of nonprofit and community organizations to find volunteer opportunities, and job and internship listings.

National Legal Aid and Defender Association (www.nlada.org) – The association posts jobs in civil legal services, defender organizations, pro bono and public interest organizations, public interest law firms and academia. Click on Jobs on the tool bar; anyone may browse this area of the site.

onPhilanthropy (www.onPhilanthropy.com) — A global resource for non-profit and philanthropy professionals. Click on the jobs section (Dot.Org.Jobs) for hundreds of current positions — many of them senior level — in the US and around the world. Users can register for email job alerts.

OpportunityNOCs (www.opportunitynocs.org) – A national online job site focused exclusively on the nonprofit community. It offers an extensive array of frequently posted job listings.

PSLawNet (www.PSLawNet.org) – A public interest job clearinghouse free of charge to students and alumni at subscribing law schools. This site should be one of your first stops in any search for public interest law work in the US and abroad. Operated by the National Association of Law Placement, the PSLawNet database includes internships, postgraduate fellowships, and a variety of permanent positions. It also has more than 11,000 organizational profiles for nonprofit, government, and other public interest employers around the world.
